I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
